The question I get most often about PPGI is not about price. It is why two coils quoted in the same RAL 9002 can look like different products side by side. Gloss, primer thickness, and even the zinc spangle underneath all shift what your eye reads as the same color. So before I quote anything I ask what the coil is feeding: a roll-forming line for roof panels, a sandwich panel press, or an appliance shell. Each one punishes a different shortcut, and quoting blind is how a buyer ends up with panels that scratch the moment they go through the rollers.
That lesson cost one of my customers real money. A panel maker in Lagos ordered on price alone from a trader and took whatever top coat came cheapest. Six months later his sheets were arriving at sites with freight scratches baked in, and his own customers blamed him. When he came to us we slowed down: we asked for his forming line speed and minimum bend radius, picked a slightly softer PE system with a thicker primer, and the scratching stopped. He has ordered every month since. I mention this not to sell you on me but because the spec sheet in front of you matters less than the machine it runs through.

How we run it in our own plant
The substrate comes off our own galvanizing line, and that detail changes more than buyers expect. Because we coat on coils we galvanized ourselves, we can hold the zinc layer steady before the paint goes on, instead of discovering at the painter that a substrate batch ran light. Paint is a barrier, not a cure. If the zinc under it is thin, a scratch reaches bare steel in one season. A builder in Da Nang learned that the hard way with a cheap import; the paint looked fine until a hailstorm chewed the surface and rust wept from every scratch within a year. His replacement coils from us run Z180 under PE and he stopped calling about rust. Not because our paint is magic. Because the layer under it was honest.

Color consistency is the other thing people underestimate. If your project needs 40 tons, I will ask whether more may follow. If the answer is yes, I reserve coil from one coating batch for the follow-up, because a second batch can drift a shade even when the recipe is identical. One repeat order for a cladding job in Riyadh came six months later, and because we had held the batch data we matched the panels within a delta the site crew could not spot. That is a small service, but it saves someone from a wall with two tones in it.

Picking a top coat without overpaying
Here is how I steer people. PE handles most inland roofing, cladding and general work and costs the least. SMP buys you better color and chalk resistance for hotter climates - Middle East roofs are where I push it. PVDF is for coastal buildings and anything architectural where fading shows, and it costs real money, so I do not push it where it earns nothing. If a rep quotes you PVDF for a fence in a dry inland town, ask him why. A customer who catches me talking him out of an upsell once tends to stay for years, which suits me fine.

Packing and delivery
Coils ship eye to sky on timber pallets, waterproof paper inside, steel strapping outside, edge protectors where the banding bites. For humid destinations I add VCI paper and vented wrap, because coils that sweat inside a container come out with dull patches no one can polish out. Standard RAL colors in common gauges run 10 to 15 days; custom color matching needs a physical sample and adds about a week. I quote the real date, and if the schedule slips I call before you do.

Send thickness, width, zinc weight, color code, coating system and destination port - or just tell me what you are making and how fast your line runs. A sales engineer replies within 12 hours with pricing, stock and an honest lead time. If a spec looks over-built for your application, I will say so on the first reply.
