Types Of Steel Coils

Jan 30, 2025

The types of steel coils mainly include the following:

Hot-rolled steel coils: Rolled after high temperature heating, with good ductility and toughness, commonly used in welding, boilers, pressure vessels and building steel structures.

Cold-rolled steel coils: Cold-rolled after hot rolling, with high surface finish and high precision, suitable for automobiles, home appliances and high-precision machinery manufacturing.

Galvanized steel coils: The surface is coated with a layer of zinc, which improves the corrosion resistance and is widely used in construction, home appliance manufacturing, vehicle manufacturing and other fields.

Color-coated steel coils: Coated on the basis of galvanized coils, with rich colors, mainly used for building decoration and home appliance shells.

Stainless steel coils: Containing alloy elements such as chromium and nickel, it has strong corrosion resistance and is commonly used in chemical, food processing, medical equipment and high-end decoration and other fields.

These different types of steel coils also have different production processes. For example, hot-rolled steel coils are rolled after high temperature heating, while cold-rolled steel coils are cold-rolled after hot rolling. Galvanized steel coils and color-coated steel coils are processed through galvanizing and coating processes respectively.
