With the increasing demand for green buildings, the application of H-beams in prefabricated buildings is expanding due to their lightweight and recyclable characteristics.
It is predicted that the demand for H-beams in China will continue to rise.

H-beam is a long strip of steel with an H-shaped cross-section, consisting of parallel flanges and a central web plate. It has the characteristics of high strength, excellent bending resistance, and good stability.

It is made of carbon structural steel or low-alloy steel and produced through hot rolling or welding processes. It is widely used in building structures, industrial manufacturing, transportation and other fields.

H-beams are mainly produced through welding and rolling, with rolling being the mainstream. Welding H-beams is the process of cutting strip steel of moderate width and connecting the flanges and web plates on a continuous welding machine. However, this method has disadvantages such as high metal consumption, uneven product performance, and limited size specifications. Therefore, the current production of H-beams mainly adopts the rolling method. In modern steel rolling technology, universal rolling mills are widely used for rolling H-beams. The web plate is rolled between the upper and lower horizontal rollers, while the flange is formed simultaneously between the horizontal roller side and the vertical roller. To control the width of the wing edge, a rolling edge machine is usually installed behind the universal frame to press down the edge of the wing edge.
