Production process
The production process mainly includes the following steps:
- Raw material preparation: Select carbon steel billets smelted in a blast furnace or electric arc furnace, controlling the carbon content (usually 0.05%-1.5%) and other alloying elements;
- Hot rolling: Roll the steel billets heated to approximately 1200°C into flat strips through multiple passes in a rolling mill to form preliminary dimensions;
- Cooling and straightening: Adjust the grain structure through controlled cooling (air cooling or water cooling), followed by using a straightener to eliminate rolling deformation;
- Surface treatment: Remove oxide scale by shot peening or pickling, and apply rust-preventive oil or plating if necessary;
- Cutting and inspection: Cut to length as required, and inspect for dimensions, hardness, composition, and surface defects to ensure compliance with standards (such as ASTM A36).
The entire process emphasizes temperature control and mechanical property optimization, and the final products are widely used in construction, machinery manufacturing, and other fields.
