Cold rolled sheet is a steel plate material processed through cold rolling technology.
Cold rolling, as an important processing method for steel, is the further rolling of hot-rolled steel plates at room temperature to achieve more precise dimensions, smoother surfaces, and better mechanical properties.
This process not only improves the hardness and strength of the steel plate but also gives it better ductility and processability.
Therefore, cold-rolled sheets are widely used in various fields such as automobile manufacturing, home appliance production, building materials, and machinery manufacturing.

1. Physical characteristics

• Surface quality: The surface is smooth and delicate, without the common oxide scale and rust of hot-rolled plates, and can be directly used for surface treatment such as spraying and electroplating.
• Can produce high gloss (such as mirror) or special textured (such as matte) surfaces to meet decorative needs.
• Dimensional accuracy: Small thickness tolerance (usually ± 0.02~0.05mm), precise control of width and length, suitable for precision machining.
• The board shape is straight, and the edges are neat, reducing subsequent cutting losses.
• Wide range of thinness: Cold rolling can produce ultra-thin plates (below 0.1mm), such as steel for cans (around 0.2mm), while hot rolling is difficult to achieve.

2. Mechanical characteristics

• High strength: During the cold rolling process, the metal grains are rolled and deformed, resulting in "work hardening". The tensile strength (such as SPCC reaching 270-380MPa) and hardness are significantly higher than those of hot-rolled plates.
• The balance between strength and plasticity can be adjusted through annealing (such as reducing hardness for deep drawing steel).
• Excellent formability: Good ductility, suitable for complex stamping (such as automotive panels), deep drawing (such as oil pans), bending, and other processes.
• Low anisotropy (after annealing) reduces the risk of stamping cracking.
• Fatigue performance: Cold rolled plates have a higher fatigue life after strengthening and are suitable for dynamic load components such as spring plates.
